On 2 April 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen organized Buddhist merit-making activities to celebrate the Auspicious Occasion of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 2nd April 2015. The Ambassador along with officials of the Embassy and the Thai community in Denmark and their families numbering around 50 persons participated in the activities which included praying, undertaking the five precepts and giving alms to monks.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has rendered public service continuously since her early youth. The experiences that Her Royal Highness had gained from accompanying Their Majesties the King and Queen on frequent visits to rural and remote areas have inspired Her to help the underprivileged. Her Royal Highness’s work in many fields such as agriculture, education, international relations and health, among others, has improved the livelihood of the Thai people and promote development of the country. It is therefore no surprise that Thai people in Denmark and elsewhere were overjoyed to perform good deeds in honour of Her Royal Highness on this very special day.
